SEIB Horse Trials

Thank you to all our competitors, sponsors and willing volunteers for a fabulous weekend at Aston-le-Walls. The results are now on the Horse Trials page for you to look at. We have had an influx of emails in the office from very happy competitors which is always great to hear so thank you to you all.  

BRC and BHS Equine Welfare Conference - 18 Sept 2010

This year's Conference at Bishop Burton College, is based on the theme 'Fit versus Fat' and will include presentations and practical sessions. For more info click here...

BRC SEIB Dressage to Music & Olympia Quadrille Selection, Aintree, Liverpool - 9 and 10 Oct 2010

The Quadrille selection will take place on Saturday evening with a gala seated ringside dinner and VIP viewing gallery.

This year's Forum at Bishop Burton College, will feature a lecture demonstration by leading Event and Dressage rider Ruth Edge.

Leo Harris Award

The Leo Harris Award is presented annually to a current Riding Club member who has given outstanding voluntary service to the movement over a period of years. For more information click here…

Championship Entries

Please note Prelim Entries have now CLOSED. You can pay for Championship entries online but you MUST have received your invite from the BRC Office before doing so. No refunds will be given if Championship entries are made and then you are not invited to the Championship.

Rider magazine - It's Your Letters - Win Ariat Boots and Gaiters

Rider has recently launched a letters page where BRC members can air their views on anything and everything. The star letter will recieve a fabulous set of Ariat boots and gaiters. We also need any good quality funny photos for Caught on Camera. If you would like to see your photo or letter in print please email your letters to e.baldwin@bhs.org.uk or m.smith@bhs.org.uk 

Rider magazine - Caught on Camera - Prize coming soon

Rider has recently launched a Caught on Camera page featuring your funny animal photos. If you have any images that you wish to see in print please email them to e.baldwin@bhs.org.uk or m.smith@bhs.org.uk  We will shortly be announcing a prize for the best photo of the issue.
*Please note that photos need to be at least 500kb to be of magazine quality.

BRC Riding Test 12

Please note in movement 14 it asks you to perform a circle left at A, however, the horse should be on the right rein at that point, so it should read circle right at A. Please also note  that the rulebook on the website is the most up to date version, updates have been shown in bold red. Rulebooks and Official Stewards and Organisers Handbooks are all available to buy in the BHS Bookshop. Training Handbooks are available free of charge, please email s.phillips@bhs.org.uk

All direct entry and Prelim entries with payment can now be taken via the BRC website. Please look under BRC competitions and then Entry Forms.

Member Addresses

Please can all members ensure that they inform their Club Secretary or the BRC office of any change of address so we can ensure we keep our records up to date and Rider magazine can be delivered to the correct address.

DTM & Quadrille – Aintree 9 and 10 October

The Quadrille and the Dressage to Music Championships will see a move to Aintree International Equestrian Centre. Based at Aintree Racecourse, this move will be a welcome change for those living north of the Midlands. The Quadrille will take place on the Saturday evening and there will be tables available for a ringside dinner. Further details on how to book tables will be published later in the year.

New Hunter Trials Competition

A new BRC Regional Hunter Trial Championship is being trialled for 2011. It will take place in the northern region which is areas 1, 2, 3, 4, 22 and 23. Qualifiers will be held at club level and existing club Hunter Trials can be used as qualifying competitions. Qualifiers can take place from 1 October 2010. The Championship will take place in the north of England in late Spring 2011. Rules for this competition will be in the 2010 rule book. See Hunter Trials page for more information.

BRC & BHS Welfare Conference & BRC Equine Forum 2010

Due to the success of both of these events in 2009 they will be making a return for 2010, both will be taking place at Bishop Burton College in Yorkshire. The date for the Welfare Conference is 18 September and the Forum 30 October.
