Simon Hughes

About Me

Simon started his equestrian career riding for well known and respected owners / riders here in the UK.
After competing through the grades he was offered the opportunity to work and be based in Switzerland. Here he had a comprehensive insight into the preparation and training of all grades of showjumper's. Riding for some of Europe’s top owners helped him to understand the horse’s development both physically and mentally along with patience and understanding for each one.
He has competed horses and coached riders at all levels in Asia, Europe and the USA. East coast, New York, Connecticut. West coast, Los Angeles.
Now retired from competitive riding (due to injury) he now concentrates as an ‘Accredited Professional Coach’ in the teaching of horses and rider’s here in the UK with occasional training trips abroad.
He has show-jumped at all levels from Novice to Grand Prix.
​Has also trained international event rider in the showjumping phase to 4*
