Bookings and Information
Are you and your precious cargo as safe as you can be when you are towing a horse trailer? The car and trailer towing test was scrapped by the Government in 2021, meaning car license holders can tow by default, but are you sure of your towing skills?
Are you confident in reversing into any parking spot or out of any situation you might find yourself in? Can you hitch up and unhitch the trailer easily or do you have to ask for help? Are you sure you've done it properly? Do you know how to drive to give your horse the smoothest possible ride? Do you know what safety checks you should be carrying out on your trailer?
You might already have a trailer and be towing but want the reassurance of a lesson to boost your knowledge and confidence, or perhaps you're thinking of investing in a trailer and want to make sure you have some training before you head out on the road with your horse on board. Whatever your situation, the professional trainers at Aylesbury Trailer Training are here to help. They are running a special clinic with the BHS, offering two-hour sessions, either solo or in pairs, specially for those who tow, or want to tow, horses. You can bring your own vehicle and trailer or use one provided for you, and the training will incorporate safety checks, hitching/unhitching, reversing practice and road driving.
Cost: £140 per session, either private or 2 friends sharing (your choice)
Duration: 2 hours
Group size: Either individuals or pairs. If you'd like a shared lesson but don't have anyone to share with, please email me (hannah.marsh@bhs.org.uk) and, if I can, I'll pair you up with someone with similar experience and aims. Please don't book until I have confirmed I have a partner for you, otherwise you will be asked to pay the full fee yourself and take a private lesson.
