Whether you ride, show jump, coach, course build, judge, a parent or just have an interest in show jumping, this day is for you!
Mark is an FEI Level 3 international course designer who has designed courses all over the world including several European Championships, having recently returned from building the $100,000 Bentley Grand Prix at the opening ceremony for Hits Del Mar in the wonderful city of San Diego, California.
Mark is also a Level 5 (Advanced) Course Designer and can be found building at some of the country's top show jumping events such as the Royal Highland, The National Amateur and Veterans Championships, as well as Wolsingham Show and Burgham International Horse Trials.
Mark's passion for course design originates from his passion for horses. Mark has been involved in producing world class show jumpers which have gone on to compete at Grand Prix level internationally, as well as coaching riders of all levels!
The day will be a mixture of both theory and practical, with a very hands on approach to course design.
Mark will help you understand the mind of the course builder with the position of jumps in the arena, lines, distances and technicalities, as well as competition rules, tables and speeds. Everyone will have the chance to build fences, walk the course and discuss the distances, lines, approach etc. (If they want to).
We will then compare younger horses/novice riders with more experienced combinations jumping round the same course, giving everyone a chance to learn from watching the various rounds to see what changes can be made to the horse and rider combination to help them just those important clear rounds
This is a great opportunity to gain advice and techniques to ride and build courses at all levels from one of the best course designers in the country!
The day will be informative and very interactive
