BHS Formby Beach Pleasure Ride

Back by popular demand we are excited for the return of this brilliant ride following the success of last year and wonderful feedback from our riders.

With special thanks to the National Trust Formby who have granted us exclusive permission to ride over dunes not permitted to every day riding during our Formby Beach Ride. The route will take you on to the glorious sands with spectacular views over the sea, returning with the help of our wonderful marshals on route to the fantastic private parking field solely for this event.

There are options for a long and a short route, approximately 8miles and 6miles respectively, both routes will be walk and trot with some stretches suitable for a canter for those looking to stretch their legs along the beach. The short route is suitable for lead rein but keep in mind you will be walking on sand for some stretches. The cost of parking is included with your entry to this event, along with rosettes for all riders.

*Attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of the event, all riders MUST have public liability insurance to attend this event*.

*All riders MUST be competent and confident at riding in wide open spaces and maintain control of their horses at all times.*

Arrival time - you will select an arrival time when you book, you will have a 30 minute window in which to arrive, this allows us to manage parking safely at our events so please do not arrive before or after this booking window. Once you have arrived, you will have up to 30 minutes to register, prepare yourself and your horse and head out onto the route.

All payment transactions will be subject to a small booking fee to cover the booking and payment processing charges from the provider.

All horses/ponies must be no younger than 4 years of age and be of an appropriate fitness level for the activity being undertaken. Unfortunately this event route is not suitable for carriage drivers due to sand dunes, and narrow access in places. Please note the route goes near a firing range which may be active on the day of the ride and so firing may be heard from the route.
