Examining the speed limit for HGVs over 7.5 tonnes on single carriageway roads

28 Jan 2013

Categories:

The Department for Transport is currently consulting on increasing the speed limit for HGVs over 7.5t on single carriageway roads from 40mph to either 45 or 50mph. The consultation closes on 1 February.

On 1 May 2012, the Government gave Scottish Ministers the power to regulate the speed of all classes of vehicle. Vehicle speed limits were already devolved to Northern Ireland. This consultation therefore only covers England and Wales.

The BHS is preparing a response to the consultation.
