Rights of Way Restoring the Record Workshops in Oxfordshire

22 Jan 2018

Time to get cracking! With less than nine years to go till the 2026 cut-off date for getting routes recorded onto the Definitive Map, BHS Oxfordshire held two training sessions on 18-19 November 2017, sponsored by the Open Spaces Society (OSS).

Experts Dr Phil Wadey and Sarah Bucks led the workshops, with plenty of facts, information and examples to give attendees good leads in researching unrecorded routes. Wadey and Bucks’ excellent book 'Rights of Way: Restoring the Record' is a vital resource for Rights of Way researchers – it is available from the BHS bookshop and gives very clear information on how to find and research routes.

As we know all too well in Oxfordshire, the equestrian network is fragmented and so any links you can find and research can help! See Oxfordshire County Council’s Guidance Notes for making Definitive Map Modification Orders

Both training days, one in Henley and the other in Bicester, were well attended.
