Kate Ingram and Silverlea Salsa, winners of the BRC Senior Novice Showjumping Championship at Royal Windsor 2013The BRC Championships at Royal Windsor Horse Show give grass-roots riders a unique opportunity to compete in Dressage competitions and Top Score Showjumping in the private grounds of Windsor Castle. All competitors are members of the British Riding Clubs movement and earned their places in the finals at area riding club qualifiers held across the UK.

Representing New Forest Pony Enthusiasts, Kate’s class was hotly contested so it was a real achievement for her to finish on top with her New Forest pony, Silverlea Salsa. The gelding is a real star for the Ingram family, having competed in the show’s inter-hunt relay with Kate’s husband just hours before taking this showjumping championship.

Speaking after the presentation of prizes Kate said: “We’ve had him since he was six months old and he’s gradually got better and better over the years. He’s now nine and this year it’s finally just clicked. I thought we had quite a good chance but I never expected to win.”
