The first recipient of the Robert Sullivan-Tailyour Volunteer of the Year award for the BHS in Wiltshire was Charles Irvine.
Charles is the Secretary for the committee and has also been instrumental in organising and supporting a great many events in the county.
Regional manager Julie Garbutt said: "Charles has been with the BHS in Wiltshire since 2001 and his dedication and efficiency in his role as secretary means that the whole committee is well organised. Added to this, Charles is always the first to offer his help to run or help with committee organised events and it is wonderful that the committee have voted for Charles to be their Volunteer of the Year for 2016."
Charles was very modest in his acceptance of the award saying that 'he was just part of a team'.
He added: "It was Robert who encouraged me to start volunteering and I served on the committee when Robert was Chairman."

The BHS South West Region were very grateful to receive a legacy from the late Robert Sullivan-Tailyour, former South West Regional Chairman. As a long standing volunteer himself, Robert was always very passionate and supportive of the work that volunteers undertook on behalf of the BHS at a local level. In recognition of this it was decided by the BHS Regional committee that some of Robert's legacy would be used to purchase a perpetual award for each BHS county committee to present to their own Volunteer of the Year which would be voted for by the committee.
