The British Horse Society Scotland has welcomed the launch of Paths for All’s new Outdoor Access Design Guide as a first revision of a comprehensive and definitive resource for land managers, paths developers and anyone interested in equestrian access.

Packed full of information and designs this guide is compliant with the Land Reform Scotland 2003 Act and the Equality Act 2010 and advocates always using the least restrictive option – so much so that it omits to carry information on kissing gates and stiles as; “these do not cater for all potential users”.

BHS Scotland Chairman of Access Don Milton said; “This is a valuable resource and one stop shop for anyone designing or planning access to the outdoors in Scotland; we are also delighted that it highlights the multi-use message.”
