Lancashire has some beautiful places to ride! We had a great response to our ride events this year!
BHS Lancashire organised a ride in May over the stunning moorlands above Darwen, with many riders enjoying safe off road riding along two new bridleways.
In September 2014, BHS Lancashire supported a ride organised by local trekking centre over the beautiful Beacon Fell, raising funds for the BHS Equine Grass Sickness Fund. Thank you to Steph Davis, owner of Braeden Trekking Centre and her helpers. We were very pleased to be visited by Alan Hiscox, National Development Director, for the BHS at our meeting in August and thank him for the support.
It gave us great pleasure to congratulate five of our local volunteers who received 15 years and 20 years long service awards from the BHS: Judith Burton, Anita Knagg, Chris Peat, Elizabeth Tyson and Christine Worthington.
We are fortunate in Lancashire to have the support of many BHS affiliated Bridleway Groups, BHS accredited riding establish-ments and BHS qualified instructors. We have over 1,800 BHS members in Lancashire. Inspired to join and get involved? If you have an idea for a future event or want to volunteer to support our work on access, welfare, safety and training then please contact me or Karen Lewty, North West Re-gional Development Officer.
