West Sussex British Horse Society Committee held their ‘MOT’ Day for Horses this year on the 15 June at Brinsbury Equine Unit, by kind permission of Chichester College. The day was also supported by the following professionals and we would like to thank them, Brinsbury Equine Unit and the various helpers, for giving their time to make this an enjoyable and informative day.
Ellie Martin – Master Saddler of the Bespoke Saddle Company. Assessed each horse under saddle and gave advice/recommendations on how the saddle fitted.
Nicky Smith – Spillers Nutritionist weighed each horse on the weigh bridge, gave feeding advice, free weigh tapes and information packs along with other goodies.
Matt Waterhouse - MRCVS and Director of the Arundel Equine Hospital gave worming information tailored to each individual.
Nat Heal – Qualified Equine Dentist & his assistant assessed all the horses’ teeth and discussed each individual’s requirements.
Westgate Laboratories - generously supplied each horse with a worm egg count kit completely free of charge.
Each horse/owner combination spent 20 minutes individually with 4 different experts and in addition received a Worm Egg Count Kit completely free (worth approx. £11) from Westgate Laboratories, vouchers, free weigh tape and other goodies from Spillers and a BHS information pack and rosette. We were blessed with good weather on the day and have received many recommendations and thanks from those taking part regards the high quality of the information received.
