The Surrey BHS Committee Training Bursary and Championship took place on a very cold day in January. Six competitiors qualified for the Bursary Championship where they had to complete a ridden assessment in front of judge Donald Kear BHSI, and Surrey Country Chair Carol Stothard. Once all competitors had ridden, Donald called each combination in for an individual dicussion about their future training aspirations. After much deliberation, Donald and Carol announced that Erica Winn, riding her own horse Cass, was the winner of the £200 bursary, which is used for lessons/training with a BHS Registered Instructor of her choice.
Congratulations to Erica and Cass, and a huge thank you to Jemma of Jemma Rylah Photograpy for the photo of the winner.
The competition is open to any horse and rider combination that compete in the Surrey BHS Commitee Dressage events which are held at Manor Farm, Claygate, in April and October each year. Keep an eye on the website for future events.
