The East Sussex BHS Bursary, hosted by Woodyard Training, took place at Plumpton College on February. The competition was organised by Oonagh Meyer BHSI of Woodyard Training and consisted of four individual events beginning in October 2013 until February 2014 and to qualify for the bursary championship, competitors had to be a member of The British Horse Society.
The top four placed competitors in the rankings rode a dressage test which was scored by dressage judge Jo Comber. Once all competitors had ridden, Jo called all combinations in for an individual discussion about their future training aspirations. The riders were also questioned as to how they thought their horse went and what they would do to progress their own and their horses training. After much deliberation the following horse and rider combinations were awarded the following:
1st place: won £100
2nd place: won £60
3rd place: won £40
1st was Fay Davie riding Consiquence, 2nd was Anna Taylor on Jack Daniels and 3rd was J Collishaw riding Kalilah.
All bursary awards must be taken as lessons with a BHS Registered Instructor.
