Nottinghamshire County Councils Temporary Closure of Hawton Bridleway

On 26 July 2016 notice was hereby given that the Nottinghamshire County Council (in exercise of its powers under Section 14(2)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984) being the traffic authority for the length or lengths of highway referred to in the notice, directed, because the restriction or prohibition should come into force without delay, that:-

(1) No person shall:- (a) proceed on foot,
 (b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
 (c) cause any horse to proceed and
 (d) cause any animal to proceed

In the following length of bridleway at Hawton in the District of Newark and Sherwood. Hawton Bridleway No.1, between grid reference points SK 8006 5176 and SK 7999 5176, a distance of approximately 100 metres.

The continuation order will come into force on 18 August 2016. The prohibition is required to enable residential access to be maintained to properties and to facilitate the opening of the realigned Bowbridge Lane/Southern Link Road.
