A taste of TREC

30 Jan 2012

Committee member Louise Napthine organised the second indoor BHS TREC competiton at Trent Valley Equestrian Centre as a follow up to last year’s successful competition.

In addition to the Kelly Marks Winter Series Newcomers and Open classes, there were also unaffiliated Open and Pairs classes which attracted 34 entries of all ages and abilities, the youngest participant being seven-year-old Scott Pitchfork.

Former Level 2 TREC GBR Champion, Kirsty Wylde was on hand to conduct a very informative guided course walk, which proved invaluable to the newcomers. The course consisted of Control of Paces in walk and canter, followed by the PTV course consisting of ten obstacles, including a log jump, bending and a bridge.
