Temporary Closure of Footpath in East Retford

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (EAST RETFORD FOOTPATH NO.18)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION ORDER 2016

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council HAS MADE an ORDER, under Sections 14 and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be: To continue the effects of THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (EAST RETFORD FOOTPATH NO.18 (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION)NOTICE 2016. That Notice came into force on ‘17 October 2016’

The effects are that:-

No person shall:-
(a) proceed on foot,
in the following length of footpath at East Retford in the District of Bassetlaw:- EAST RETFORD FOOTPATH NO.18, (the Canal towpath) from its junction with Hospital
Road (A620) at grid reference SK 6996 8106 in a south easterly then southerly direction to its junction with East Retford Footpath No.17 (The Carr) at grid reference
SK 7077 8085, comprising a distance of approximately 275 metres.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition respecting the above highway or highways will apply as follows:-

To 16 December 2016 inclusive. The Continuation Order will come into force on 07 November 2016 and any prohibition contained in the continued Order shall apply on that day and on any subsequent day or days when it shall be necessary for the prohibition to apply to enable works to be carried out and the Order shall continue in full force until the works it is proposed to carry out are completed (within a maximum period of 6 months from the date that the notice came into force). The prohibition is required to protect public safety and enable repairs to be made to the canal.
