British Horse Society announced as Bolesworth’s Equestrian Charity of the Year
The British Horse Society has been revealed as Equestrian Charity of the Year at Bolesworth International – one of showjumping's biggest and brightest shows. Running again at CSI**** level, the four-day show takes place in the spectacular grounds of Bolesworth Castle, Cheshire from June 16-19 and promises an exciting mix of thrilling showjumping, dressage to music, the unmissable puissance, para showjumping, an invitational jockey challenge and Bolesworth's flagship elite young horse auction.
A prize fund of almost £60,000 has been announced for the final day's headline Bolesworth International Grand Prix, and if that is not enough to whet the appetite, then show-stopping evening performances from pop bands Atomic Kitten, 5ive and Retake That are also in store.
The BHS will be based in the new equine zone that will feature rider guest appearances, as well as learning and interactive sessions. The BHS will be on site throughout the event raising awareness and fundraising to support vital charitable work throughout 2016. Laura Pepper, Fundraising Director at the BHS says: “We’re very excited to be a part of Bolesworth International and thrilled that they have again selected us to be their Equestrian Charity of the Year. As the show continues to grow, attracting exciting competition and a great audience, we are going to enjoy talking about all of the charitable work that the BHS does to help horses and riders at all levels in this fantastic arena.
There will be numerous other family attractions including camel racing, a funfair, action-packed displays, a dog show, bistro and champagne bar, fine food, fashion & lifestyle zone, plus a shop until you drop experience guaranteed by around 130 retail outlets.
Looking ahead to Bolesworth 2016, show president Nina Barbour said: "We have put together another fantastic four days of non-stop action in the very special setting that we have at Bolesworth. We look forward to welcoming visitors, new and old, for what I know will be an unmissable event. We are delighted to have The British Horse Society involved as our equestrian charity and are excited to be working in partnership with them.
General admission tickets are available at a pre-sale price of just £12 for the opening two days, and £18 for Saturday and Sunday, up to 40% off gate prices. Under-14s can enjoy free admission, while a four-day season ticket is at a not-to-be-missed pre-sale price of £40. Tickets can be bought online.
And for those wanting to stay overnights during the show, Bolesworth offers its very own glamping Festihut Village, providing two and four-bed wooden chalets, complete with lighting and power, while a campsite for tents, caravans and motorhomes will also be available.
Bolesworth 2016 will be a must-watch event, providing box office entertainment as it continues to go from strength to strength.
