Trustee Elections 2018
Looking to start a new relationship this Valentines? Then why not nominate to become a Trustee of The British Horse Society?
A vibrant, well-qualified Board is vital to the success of the British Horse Society. Now is your chance to volunteer your professional and personal skills to lead and govern the BHS as a trustee. Alongside your fellow trustees, you would help to develop the BHS for the benefit of our members and the wider equestrian community.
Our trustees volunteer their time and experience to the BHS by attending and preparing for Board meetings and away days, supporting the executive team with good governance and representing the BHS at events and on committees.
We are looking to elect individuals with specialisms, which complement those of our existing trustees, and who can support and empower the executive team. Our priorities for the Trustee Election 2018 are: Fundraising and Marketing and Communications
Please take a look at our trustee role description and the specialist role descriptions below to understand more about the trustee role for the British Horse Society.
Working together with the Senior Management Team you will help us develop and grow all opportunities which relate to the various fundraising income streams. From suggesting potential prospects and supporting donor approaches to being part of our Team as we approach and develop relationships with charitable trust and grant funders.

Marketing and Communications
As the BHS grows, it’s important the organisation continues to raise awareness of all of the excellent work that is being carried out. The remit of this area is to not only raise awareness but also to help drive sales where appropriate (e.g. membership).
You will support and advise the executive team on any marketing and communications activity ensuring the customer is always at the heart. An avid brand guardian, you will be there to help the BHS brand evolve for the future success of the organisation. You will guide on appropriate initiatives be this at events, online or in the press.
