Instructor/Groom for BHSAI at Cedar Crest Farm, New York

The long-established Cedar Crest Farm Equestrian Center in upstate New York seeks competent, enthusiastic BHSAI to join our team of like-minded professionals. The position involves all yard duties, plus the opportunity to ride a number of quality horses on a daily basis, both independently and under the supervision of Paul Lindsay BHSII and Geraldine Lindsay United States Eventing Association Level II Instructor.

The successful applicant must enjoy and feel confident jumping both in the arena and cross-country up to 3'6" and should be able to work horses correctly on the flat. An ability to teach discerning adult amateur clients to a high level with skill and tact is also required.

Benefits include:

  • one return air fare
  • assistance with J-1 visa application costs, medical insurance and agency fees
  • accommodation in a spacious staff apartment over the barn
  • a salary of $20,800

Giving a total package value of $30,300 p.a., plus annual bonus based on business profits.

We run a six-day working week with Mondays off, plus one additional Tuesday off per month. Two weeks paid annual leave in keeping with the American norm.

Hours of work are 7am to 5pm daily with one hour for lunch. Please note, the stable yard and accommodation are non-smoking areas and winter weather in New York is not conducive to smoking outdoors.
