Join The British Horse Society and The Blue Cross for an informal, friendly discussion about the important but often hard to talk about subject of equine euthanasia.
David Catlow BVSc MRCVS: Clinical Director at The Blue Cross, will explain when and why you might make the decision, including both pre-planned and emergent cases; methods of euthanasia; what happens (and the myths) and other considerations such as options for disposal of the body.
Sophie Green: Welfare Coordinator at The British Horse Society, will talk about the BHS Friends At The End scheme, where trained welfare volunteers can help horse owners to consider their options and even be there on the day to support them.
Annalisa de Carteret and Jo Tarling: from the Blue Cross Pet Bereavement Support Team will talk about the life changing and emotional impact of losing a horse, explain the different stages of the grieving process, discuss ways of memorialising as well as providing a personal insight through real life case studies.
Places are FREE but must be reserved due to limited capacity - please email Geoffrey Fairfoull to reserve your place.
Time: 7 - 9pm.
Donations to The Blue Cross will be welcomed!
