Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop

12 Oct 2017 19:00 - 21:00

Children and young people are the future of our industry, we all have a duty to safeguard their welfare and they have a right to enjoy equestrianism in a fun and safe environment and be protected from harm.

All Registered Instructors are required to complete a Safeguarding Course in order to be listed on the register. This revamped BEF Safeguarding course is valid for three years. There will be a phasing in period where Registered Instructors will be asked to complete a course by a certain date, depending on their
existing course date.

The course, which is open to everyone who works or volunteers with children, is 3 hours long and all course material is provided. It will be delivered by a current SportsScotland coach.
