Access & Rights of Way
The British Horse Society’s Access and Rights of Way Department works to improve the bridleways network.

This brings them into regular contact with ministers and officials of government departments, and agencies throughout the United Kingdom concerned with bridleways and other forms of public access.
The Access and Rights of Way Department is represented on many national committees and has frequent discussions with colleagues in other user groups, and runs an extensive Access Training Programme. This Access Training Programme has been successful in boosting knowledge of issues relating to access.

The British Horse Society is consulted about proposed legislation, government planning guidance, definitive maps and road schemes, and it has influenced and continues to influence legislation.

Support a network of volunteer BHS Access & Bridleways Officers who give expert local advice.
