Applying for the Riding and Road Safety Test
If you would like to apply for a Riding and Road Safety Test you need to do the following:
• Find a test date and venue which is suitable for the candidate. If there are no test dates in your area contact your local
Riding and Road Safety Representative.
• Contact the venue you wish to take the test at, ensure they can accommodate you and if applicable book training and hire of horse.
• Contact the BHS Riding and Road Safety Department via post, telephone or fax to book and pay for your place on the test.

If you wish an injury or disability to be taken into account by the Riding and Road Safety examiners please complete the
special adjustments questionnaire. Please download this form and attach it to your application form when applying for the Riding and Road Safety test. If you have any queries regarding this please contact the office.

Any grievance arising from a Riding and Road Safety Test will be dealt with by an independent moderator. All grievances must be made in writing on the appropriate form and sent to The British Horse Society, Examinations Department, Abbey Park, Kenilworth CV8 2XZ and accompanied by a fee of £75, which will be refunded if the complaint is upheld. Grievances must be received within four weeks of the date of the examination.
