Direct Entry to BHS Exams
The Ride Leader and Riding Holiday Centre Manager Certificates are internationally recognised and accredited by FITE (Federation Internationale de Tourisme Equestre) and successful candidates also receive a FITE certificate.
In recognition of the standards attained by holders of Equestrian Tourism qualifications the following direct entry process has been agreed:
Assistant Ride Leader - will allow holders direct entry to the BHS Stage 2 “riding” examination and upon successful completion candidates may apply to sit the BHS Horse Knowledge Care and Riding Stage 3. Candidates wishing to apply to sit the Preliminary Teaching Test must however pass either the Horse Knowledge Care and Riding Stage 2 or Horse Knowledge Care and Riding Stage 3 before applying for the Preliminary Teaching Test.
Ride Leader - will allow holders direct entry to the BHS Stage 3 “riding” and upon successful completion candidates may apply to sit the BHS Horse Knowledge Care and Riding Stage 4. Candidates wishing to apply to sit the Preliminary Teaching Test must, however, pass the BHS Horse Knowledge Care and Riding Stage 3 or Horse Knowledge Care and Riding Stage 4 before applying for the Preliminary Teaching Test.
Riding Holiday Centre Manager - Holders of this qualification will be considered for direct entry to the BHS Senior Equitation and Coaching examinations.
