BHS Senior Equitation and Coaching Certificates

Senior Equitation Certificate

Holders of this qualification will be competent and knowledgeable horse persons with a sound grasp of the principles of training horses on the flat and over fences up to and including movements at British Dressage Advanced Medium, British Eventing Intermediate Horse Trials and BSJA Foxhunter. They will also be capable of training young and spoiled horses from the ground.

This qualification whilst being recognised in its own right is also a component part of the BHS Instructor Certificate. Holders will be able to gain employment in training and competition yards.

BHS Senior Coaching Certificate

Holders of this qualification will be effective coaches with sound teaching and equitation principles. They will be able to give lessons up to and including British Dressage Advanced Medium, British Evening Intermediate Horse Trials and BSJA Foxhunter. They will have the ability to train students and pupils for BHS examinations and competitions. They will be able to instruct private and class lessons and will be able to offer advice on training and careers.

This qualification whilst being recognised in its own right is also a component part of the BHS Instructor Certificate. Holders will be able to gain employment as Senior Coaches at commercial riding establishments, equine colleges and as freelance instructors.
